Antichrist

An individual whose appearance is prophesised in two books of the Christian Scriptures (1 John and 2 John), who is expected by some Christians to appear near the End Time, when he will act as Satan's chief representative.

The antichrist is usually meant to identify one specific powerful person or system who works to defeat God in the last days. However, the apostle Paul taught that the Antichrist was at work even during his time and that he would continue to operate to the end of time.
