1. A style of mainly Jewish and Christian writing that was common from about 200 BC to 200 AD. The writings prophesized the destruction of evil and triumph of good.

2. Sometimes narrowly used to refer to the Book of Revelation in the Bible.

3. The event that ends all things in last day events and prophecies.
