Calvinism

A system of Christian belief developed in the 16th century by theologians such as Martin Bucer, Heinrich Bullinger, Peter Martyr Vermigli, Huldrych Zwingli and English reformers such as Thomas Cranmer and John Jewel, influenced by he French reformer John Calvin (Jean Cauvin).

It emphasises predestination - the belief that certain people are fated to be saved and others are selected by God to be not saved and spend eternity in Hell. The selection is not done on the basis of any action that they have performed during their life on earth.
