Cessationism

The belief that tongues, and other special gifts enjoyed by believers in the early Christian movement faded early in the history of the Christian church, and are thus not present today.

The time of cessation is variously defined as the date of the completion of the last book of the Christian Scriptures or the death of the last Apostle.
