Christmas

A festival held on 25th December to celebrate the birth of Yeshua of Nazareth (Jesus Christ), after whose life the Christian religion is patterned.

The date of the celebration is traditional, and is not considered to be Jesus' actual date of birth. The Armenian Apostolic Church observes Christmas on January 6. Eastern Orthodox Churches that use the Julian Calendar rather than the more widely used Gregorian calendar celebrate Christmas on January 7 (which is 25 December on the Julian calendar) as the two calendars are 13 days apart.

Although nominally a Christian holiday, it is also observed as a cultural holiday by many non-Christians. However, not all Christian denominations, such as Jehovah's Witnesses, certain Seventh Day Adventist churches, and Members of the Living Church of God celebrate Christmas.
