Greek term for 'correct opinion or belief'.

1. When written in lower case, it generally means a traditional or historical belief.

2. When written in upper case, it generally refers to Eastern Orthodoxy, which split from the Western European (Roman Catholic) Church in 1054 AD.

3. Also written in upper case, a Jew who lives by the teachings of the Torah and Talmud.
