Salvation

The process by which a person is saved from the penalty of sin.

Various passages in the Christian Scriptures imply that salvation is achieved by:

• good deeds
• by belief in Jesus' resurrection
• belief that Jesus is the Son of God
• by church rituals such as baptism or penance
• by avoiding certain behaviours
• some combination of the above
