The word Tanakh is an acronym formed from the initial Hebrew letters of the Tanakh's three traditional subdivisions:

• Torah (Pentateuch), the Books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy
• Nevi'im (Prophets)
• Ketuvim (Writings)

Also spelled Tenakh or Tenak.
