Tetragrammaton

From the Greek 'tetra' (four) and 'gramma' (letter).

The tetragrammaton consists of four Hebrew letters: Yod, He, Waw and He, transliterated as YHWH, JHVH or JHWH; the name of God in the Hebrew language. Historically, within Judaism, the name of God was neither spoken nor written.

YHWH was often translated as 'Lord' or mistranslated as 'Jehovah' in English versions of the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament).
