The personal name of God.

A vocalisation favoured by most theologians of the tetragammaton (YHWH); the name of God (JHWH) found throughout the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). An alternative pronunciation is Jehovah, a popular name but one that was probably never used in ancient times.
